Pastor Michael McNiel Pastor’s Pastoral Words: Purpose of heart "Then the news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to go...When he came and had seen all that the Lord was doing, he rejoiced and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord" -Acts 11:22-23 Trinity United Methodist church is a congregation with "purpose of heart". Whenever we gather together we are a people who expect to experience the power of the Lord. In return we are a people committed to Caring for our church family, we are committed to reaching out to the world in love, and we are committed to growing and thriving as disciples of Jesus Christ. When people come to worship they experience an open and gracious people, people who have experienced for themselves firsthand the forgiving grace and love of God. It is this love that makes us so friendly and open to people who come from all different places in life. We are a people who hunger for the Word of God. We want to know God with deeper trust and intimacy. We know that God has provided the Bible for us to come to know him more completely, we are a people committed to Biblical literacy. We know that prayer changes things and we are a people who are becoming accustomed to praying at all times and in all places. We pray for one another and for all who seek the comfort and guidance of prayer. We also understand that worship is the ground from which the joy of life flows. We are a people who gather with our brothers and sisters to worship and praise our God who teaches us, disciplines us, forgives us and loves us dearly. We are the people of the United Methodist church. We are a people with purpose of heart.
