Caring for Kids…..& Grandkids!

Our Ad Council recently decided to give funding in the amount of $500 from the Caring for Kids fund to the Grandparents Support Group at Children’s Home Society. This donation was possible because of your generous support of Caring for Kids by dropping money in the glass jar in the Narthex.
The Grandparents Support Group is composed of 10-15 grandparents who are raising their grandchildren and who meet twice a month on Monday mornings for support and encouragement. There is personal sharing and information provided about services available. The group sponsors four family events a year, such as play days at the park, picnics and a Christmas celebration. The children have also gotten acquainted and have been helped by realizing that there are other kids being raised by their grandparents; that they are not so different.
We were also able to donate to Haven of Hope, a local women and children’s shelter, from our Joy Jar Funds. They received $400, part of which will, hopefully, be spent on a fun event as we pass our joys
forward. Submitted by — Judy Terry

Trinity Committee Descriptions

This month & in August, The Administrative Council will be giving some brief explanations of Trinity’s Ministry structure/committees and how they work. It is their hope that this will give you a clearer understanding of the committees we have at Trinity and what their responsibilities are. And, perhaps, you just might find one that interests you and would like to become a part of their work in our church!
Descriptions of the remaining committees will be in the August View & you will also receive a complete list of all the committees and their members to keep for your information.

They confer with and counsel the pastor and staff. They are responsible for keeping the mission of the church always a priority and in clear focus. (Chair person—Ja net’ Crouse)

Worship Committee: Meets monthly to select the hymns for worship based on the bible readings selected by the Pastor. They work to provide the guidance and tools to make worship a time when all the congregation has the opportunity to experience and know God more fully.

P.F.L.A.G. Ending

As a result of many factors, PFLAG (Parents, Family/Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is dissolving. Trinity has provided us with a safe and free space to meet for the past 17 years. Many lives, particularly young people, have been positively changed as a result and we have Trinity to thank.
We are closing our bank account and giving funds to the Diversity Clubs at Leavenworth, East Wenatchee and Wenatchee High schools. The balance of $472 has been given to Trinity as a token of our appreciation for the ministry you have protected and nurtured.
With our thanks and gratitude ~ Richard L. Tonseth—Treasurer
